Writing!

Kindergarten writers will develop their skills in our daily Writer's Workshop. We begin the first unit by drawing and labeling, then move on to writing true stories (personal narratives), informational how-to texts, and persuasive (opinion) texts. We work as a community of learners to set goals, share our writing, respond to questions & suggestions from peers, and analyze texts written by published authors, teachers, and of course...kindergarten authors in our class! To get an idea of what we do, check out these checklists that we use to self-assess and confer with teachers and peers.
